> The most successful examples I've seen from you guys include the following things: 'splash pages' or some type of dramatic section dividers, "interesting" graphic moments, clear evidence of weekly process, large pull-quotes (content tbd), etc.
> A warning to not be overly ambitious. Balance this deliverable with all of the other ones for this project.
Process Blogging
> A reminder about the weekly blog posts from the syllabus:
"A unique project process blog (or proper tagging on your existing blog) is required for this course and should provide evidence of conceptual and formal evolution. 13 weekly posts are required to the blog throughout the semester. Each post is required on the date indicated on the course project schedule and is assessed considering quality and completeness of the content. At a minimum, each blog post should include 4–7 portfolio-quality (sized 800 × 600 pixels) images and a 150–200 word statement that lucidly summarizes the student’s design process."
> At this point, the imagery could be photographs of notebooks, mind-maps, screengrabs of image research, inspirational items, user profiles, etc. I would expect you all to be engaging with the visual world in some way.
> These posts are in addition to specific items I may ask for like the process pdf and revised quote.
> This week, I will give you guys a "pass" on the quality of the posts as we are warming up to how this works. As long as you had something up by the end of class, you will get credit. If I left a comment asking where your post is, that means you are sitting with a 0 until you get something up (and notify me via email). Next week, I'll expect things to run smoothly.
> Many of you have set up dropmark accounts. This is great/fine/good, just make sure it is "public" and that you are not reserving all visual content for the dropmark. You want to provide curated imagery on the blog that will feed your process document.
> May be helpful for some of you to include notes from our conversation on your blog with your 'next steps.'
> Many of you have lengthy text-based blog posts, which is to be expected with DP. Please apply some hierarchy so your audience (me) can easily digest the information.
> On most of your blogs, I couldn't find a way to enable email notification to me about new comments, so if you need to reply to me, let me know via email.
Homework
> No specific homework, just make sure you keep moving forward. I know that with the lack of deliverable, there may be a tendency to not work on DP. This is not recommended. :)
